Racing in Moe dates back to the previous century, so you could say racing is firmly entrenched in the blood, hearts and souls of the Moe people. Visitors, jockeys, trainers, owners and horses travel from around the state to attend Moe race meetings.  Today the Moe Cup, held in October each year, has grown into the  biggest race meeting in Gippsland both in prize money and patronage. In recognition of this events importance, Latrobe City has granted a half day holiday for every “Moe Cup Thursday”.

The 2008/2009 racing season has the Moe Racing Club ready for one of our biggest seasons yet so get ready for all the glitz, glamour, entertainment and great racing action during our  fourteen racedays which include eleven feature days. During the Spring Racing Carnival we have two massive days  being the GPG Mobil Moe Cup on Thursday 16th October which is the biggest race meeting in Gippsland , and new to our calendar Melbourne Cup Day Tuesday 4th  November.

The Moe Racing Club is the largest capacity racecourse in Gippsland & can offer  you more than  just a great day out at the races, with a complete hospitality package we can make sure all your expectations are fulfilled. The Moe Racing also offer members and guests great times in our other facilities - Turfside Tabaret, the Turfside Bistro and the Turfside Function Centre.

The Turfside Function Centre was built in 2004 making it one of the newest functions centres in Gippsland. We cater for large and small groups, weddings, conferences and much more. The main function room overlooks colourful gardens, the greenery of the Moe Racecourse and includes picturesque views of the Baw Baw Mountains.

In 2007,  the Turfside Tabaret venue underwent  two million dollars worth of renovations making it the most modern and state of the art facility in Gippsland which includes  large lounge areas, Sports Bar, TAB, Turfside Bistro and more.... The bistro offers the finest in al a carte dining for both lunch and   dinner seven days a week. We provide dining in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in either the comfort of indoors or our Alfresco area, complete with large children’s play area.
